Born and raised in the Caribbean it was the need for practicing physicians that inspired Dr. Sheila Mohammed to become a Doctor of Medicine. She graduated from the American University of the Caribbean in 2002 with honors and completed her Occupational Medicine Residency from the University of South Florida in 2008. Dr. Mohammed remained at the University of South Florida to complete her PhD in Public Health. Simultaneously in 2009 while pursuing her Doctorate, she began practicing medicine in Northwest Florida.
Dr. Mohammed joined Island Doctors in 2017 where she will continue to experience her favorite part of healthcare; watching her patients’ health improve. She is board certified by the American Board of Preventive Medicine with a sub-specialty in Occupational Medicine as well as the American Board of Disability Analysts. She loves to kayak and the water in general.
