Jennifer Matthews, PA-C

Jennifer Matthews, PA-C, brings nearly 20 years of clinical experience in primary care and urgent care to Island Doctors. She earned her Master’s Degree in Physician Assistant Studies and her Bachelor of Science in Microbiology from the University of Florida. Certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA), Jennifer is licensed to practice in Florida and New York.

Jennifer specializes in managing acute illnesses, chronic disease management, preventive care, and telemedicine services. She is passionate about delivering patient-centered care, building trusted relationships through open communication, and creating individualized, evidence-based treatment plans.

Prior to joining Island Doctors, Jennifer spent 16 years with UF Health Jacksonville, where she optimized clinical workflows, enhanced patient intake processes, and trained staff on advanced medical procedures. She is proficient in multiple electronic health record (EHR) systems and remains committed to ongoing medical education and best practices.

Jennifer Matthews is now proudly seeing patients at our East Palatka office in Putnam County, Florida, where she continues her dedication to improving patient outcomes and expanding access to high-quality healthcare.
