Dr. Black earned his Bachelor of Science in Veterinary Medicine at the University of Michigan in 1971. Following this, he decided to pursue his Master of Science in Physiology through the University of Florida Department of Medicine. After graduating with this degree in 1975, he remained at the University of Florida to complete his internship and residency in Health and Family Medicine and earned his M.D. in 1983.
Since then, Dr. Black has served as the Medical Director for both the Gainesville Nursing Center and the Alachua General Hospital. In addition, he has taught at the University of Florida College of Medicine and College of Veterinary Medicine, as well as at the University of Tennessee College of Veterinary Medicine.
Dr. Black is board certified in Family Medicine by the American Board of Family Medicine and has served on several medical committees at the University of Florida, the University of Tennessee, and Alachua General Hospital. Dr. Black sees patients at our Gainesville office.
