Dr. Keith Justice is medical director of the Island Doctors’ offices in Saint Augustine, FL. Before joining Island Doctors in May of 2018, he spent twenty years as a hematology and oncology physician with the Florida Oncology Associates of St. Augustine while concurrently acting as a Physician Advisor at Flagler Hospital, and holding multiple leadership posts such as President of Medical Staff, Member of Board of Trustees, and many previous and current committee chairman posts.
Dr. Justice received his undergraduate degree from Georgia State University in Atlanta, GA with a major in psychology, minor in chemistry. He then moved on to graduate with his Doctor of Medicine from the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque, New Mexico in 1992.
After graduating with his M.D., Dr. Justice began his career with an Internship in Internal Medicine at the University of Florida’s Health Science Center, before being accepted for multiple residencies from 1993-1996, including Anesthesiology at the University of Florida at Shands Hospital, and Internal Medicine at the University of Florida Health Science Center in Jacksonville. He completed a Fellowship at the University of Florida Health Science Center Jacksonville in Medical Oncology.
Dr. Justice did clinical research early in his career and has been published in multiple medical journals for research in subjects covering diabetes and hypoglycemia and has received recognition and awards for his work including the Metabolism Subspecialty Award (Edwin Osgood Award) at the Western Student Medical Research Forum in Carmel, California.
Since the beginning of his career, Dr. Justice remained interested and constantly involved in the inner workings of the medical community through memberships and participation on several hospital committees. He currently serves as the Chairman of the Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee and the Chairman of the By-Laws Committee at Flagler Hospital in addition to being a Credentials Committee Member (2008-present). Dr. Justice also is an Attending Physician at the Bailey Center for Caring, an inpatient hospice unit at Flagler Hospital.
Dr. Justice spent a significant portion of his career in hospital leadership with Flagler Hospital and First Coast Health Alliance ACO, and Island Doctors is privileged to have such a highly experienced physician as our Medical Director at Island Doctors.
